FAQS

Welcome to Kaka'ako Christian Fellowship (KCF)! We want to you to be able to experience good fun, great music, encouraging messages, and friendly and real people in an enjoyable atmosphere. We know that if it is your first time at church, you may have some questions:

Q. How do I get to KCF?
A.
We hold weekly worship services on Sundays at McKinley Community School for Adults (634 Pensacola St., Honolulu, Hawaii 96814) in Honolulu, Hawaii on the island of Oahu. We have two services...first service at 9:00 a.m. and second service at 10:45 a.m.

If you're driving, parking is free. You can enter the parking lot from Pensacola Street. There are three lots, so you don't have to worry about finding a spot.

Q. What should I wear?
A.
Just come as you are. We encourage people to wear what they feel is comfortable. We're more concerned about meeting your needs than your outfit. Some people wear aloha shirts, slacks and shoes...others wear t-shirts, shorts and slippers.

Q. What's available for my kids?
A.
We realize that you want a safe and fun experience for your children. At KCF we strive to provide a safe, loving and fun place for our children to learn more about God and meet some new friends.

Children in preschool to 6th grade are encouraged to attend Kidz for Christ, our awesome children's program during services so parents can focus on the service's message.

Youth in grades 7th-12th have the opportunity to join, our Youth Program (The Line). Our youth get together Saturday evening at 5pm with Pastor Max. It is a fun time for them to connect with other youth and with God. There is fun, food and a lot of relationship building.

Q. What should I expect in church?
A.
The very first think we'll ask of you is simple...relax. You're with friends. Even if you've never been to church before, we're confident you'll fit right in. Just enjoy yourself.

We have a group of friendly greeters who will welcome you into our services. They provide name tags and bulletins for you. We also have a Hospitality Center, which has light refreshments of pastries and beverages. There is also a Concierge Desk where you can find out more about our church and activities.

Our services last for about 75 minutes. Our live band plays 3-4 songs each week. The words will be on-screen, so feel free to sing along, read along, or just enjoy the music. Please know that we will never single you out or embarrass you in any way. We want you to feel comfortable enough to connect with the personal hope and practical help that God offers all of us.

Q. Is that Mark Morimoto guy really your pastor?
A.
(*hee-hee*) Yes, he is. He's a little eccentric, loves basketball, electronic gadgets, cooking (on gas stoves thank you), and he tells bad jokes...but we love him the way he is because God does too.
